On September 13th and 14th this year, CWM joined a bunch of incredible chalk artists for a weekend of power chalking on Government Street in Victoria!
We entered the Victoria International Chalk Art Festival for the second year in a row…
And here’s what we chalked:
put yourself in someone else’s…
This was the final piece in our summer Shoe Project. If you haven’t already seen the work we did around Vancouver, check our the other shoes we chalked!

It’s Not Because I’m Lazy. It’s Because…
“I face multiple employment barriers.”
“I was born into poverty.”
“I don’t have an address to put on my resume”
“They want a phone number to contact me, but I don’t have one.”
“I don’t own proper interview attire.”
“Nobody will give me a chance.”
“I don’t have the money to buy makeup.”
“People judge me for the way I look.”
“There is not enough affordable housing in THIS city.”
“I am not able to get the treatment I need.”
A couple of hours in a downtown alley later…

Put yourself in someone else’s shoes
Stay tuned for the next in our series! 🙂
Whose shoes would you wear?
How do you empathise with people? Do you imagine walking in someone else’s shoes, and try to see things from their point of view?
This week, chalk a pair of shoes, or the phrase “take a walk in someone else’s shoes”.
